Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2026: Complete Guide to SeaWorld’s Halloween Event
If you're looking for a Halloween experience in Orlando that goes beyond pumpkins, costumes, and trick-or-treating, Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2026 is ready to turn up the fear. Held at SeaWorld Orlando, this separately ticketed nighttime Halloween event combines haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, themed bars, Halloween food and drinks, and some of SeaWorld's biggest thrill rides after dark.
For 2026, Howl-O-Scream is celebrating another terrifying season with five haunted houses, six scare zones, five brand-new interactive bars, four nighttime thrill rides, live shows, and roaming scares.
If you're planning an Orlando vacation this Halloween season, here's everything you need to know before you go.
When Is Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2026?
Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2026 takes place on select nights from September 11 through October 31, 2026.
The event begins at 7:00 p.m., with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. The Halloween event is separate from regular daytime admission to SeaWorld Orlando, so you'll need a Howl-O-Scream ticket to enter.
The event is especially appealing for visitors who want to experience Orlando's theme parks during the day and then continue their vacation with a Halloween event after dark. Because dates are select nights, check the official calendar when choosing your vacation dates.
How Much Are Howl-O-Scream Orlando Tickets?
Ticket prices vary by date and ticket type.
As of October 2026, single-night Howl-O-Scream tickets start at $47.99, although prices can increase depending on the night you choose. SeaWorld Annual Pass Members can receive discounted tickets, with Pass Member pricing currently starting as low as $42.99.
Another option is the Any Night Ticket, currently listed at $74.99. This ticket allows one visit on any Howl-O-Scream event night through October 31, 2026, rather than requiring you to select a specific date.
For Halloween fans who want to visit both SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, SeaWorld is also offering a Two Park Unlimited Scream Pass. The pass provides access to Howl-O-Scream at both parks, with the SeaWorld event running through October 31 and the Busch Gardens event continuing through November 1.
Remember that Howl-O-Scream admission does not include daytime admission to SeaWorld Orlando, and parking, taxes, and service fees are additional.
What Makes Howl-O-Scream Different?
Orlando has several major Halloween events, but Howl-O-Scream has developed its own personality, and is a fraction of the price of other events happening.
You'll encounter haunted houses with original storylines, scare zones filled with characters, themed bars, and live entertainment.
The result is an experience that feels more like an entire Halloween night out than simply visiting a haunted house.
And if you love theme park rides, there's an added bonus: you can ride some of SeaWorld's biggest coasters at night.
Howl-O-Scream 2026 Haunted Houses
The unique haunted houses are one of the biggest reasons Halloween fans visit Howl-O-Scream.
For 2026, SeaWorld is offering five haunted houses, including four original storylines and the event's first movie-inspired haunted house.
I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch
One of the biggest additions for 2026 is I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch.
Inspired by the classic horror movie, this haunted house takes guests into the seaside town of Southport, where the Fisherman is waiting.
This is particularly exciting for horror fans because it marks SeaWorld Orlando's first movie-inspired Howl-O-Scream haunted house.
If you know the movie, you'll recognize the basic premise, but you won't know what is waiting around the next corner.
Everything Must Stay
Ever wonder what could possibly go wrong during an open house?
In Everything Must Stay, a suburban home has remained unsold for years because potential buyers keep fleeing after experiencing things they can't explain.
Your house tour quickly becomes something much more terrifying as the forces inside awaken.
The Rave Yard
Returning for 2026, The Rave Yard combines a cemetery with an underground rave.
The dead aren't resting peacefully in this haunted house. Instead, they're partying among neon lights, music, tombstones, and mausoleums.
It's a creepy combination of nightclub energy and undead horror.
The Dark Net
For something completely different, step into The Dark Net.
This futuristic haunted house takes place in a city struggling through an energy crisis where cyborg creatures have discovered a horrifying new power source.
Expect a combination of futuristic technology, cybernetic creatures, neon-lit environments, and plenty of blood.
The Crawl Space
If creepy underground spaces are your idea of a nightmare, The Crawl Space might be one of the houses you don't want to miss.
The story takes guests into an abandoned network of tunnels where a catastrophic containment failure has allowed something dangerous to grow.
The deeper you go, the harder it becomes to escape.
Howl-O-Scream 2026 Scare Zones
You don't have to enter a haunted house to encounter the horrors of Howl-O-Scream.
Throughout the event, six scare zones transform parts of SeaWorld into frightening environments. Four are new for 2026, while two fan favorites are returning.
Dooms District
Civilization has collapsed in Dooms District, where survivalists, conspiracy theorists, and doomsday preppers are fighting to prove their version of the apocalypse is correct.
And they may decide that you need to join them.
Extermination Order
Something is multiplying throughout the streets in Extermination Order.
Insects, swarms, and creepy-crawly creatures have taken over, while exterminators attempt to regain control.
Unfortunately, you may find yourself on their list.
Nekrosis
One of the most unique scare zones for 2026 is Nekrosis, which takes guests back to the turn of the millennium.
The story centers around a seaside town frozen in the aftermath of January 1, 2000.
With Y2K references, a video store, nostalgic 1990s details, and creatures lurking throughout the area, this zone combines nostalgia with horror.
Just One More Chapter
Book lovers with a darker side will want to explore Just One More Chapter.
This gothic scare zone combines cursed romance, masked figures, toxic obsession, and an eerie enchanted garden.
It's definitely not your average trip to the library!
Trailer Park Tragedy
A returning favorite, Trailer Park Tragedy takes you into a rundown community where the residents don't appreciate visitors.
With twisted characters, dangerous animals, and plenty of creepy props, this is one area where you probably don't want to wander off the path.
Woodrot Hollow
Another returning scare zone is Woodrot Hollow.
Set in a creepy Florida-style swamp, the area features decaying trees, mud, moss, and a terrifying creature said to protect the area.
If you're a fan of swampy Florida scenery with a seriously spooky twist, this one fits perfectly into the Howl-O-Scream experience.
Howl-O-Scream Food and Drinks
Halloween food is a big part of the fun at Orlando's seasonal events, and Howl-O-Scream 2026 offers plenty of ways to eat and drink your way through the night.
SeaWorld is offering a Howl-O-Scream Tasting Lanyard with two options.
The Mocktails & Bites Lanyard includes five punches that can be used for eligible food items or full-size non-alcoholic beverages.
The Spirits & Bites Lanyard includes 10 punches for five food items and five full-size alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. The current listed price is $79.99, while the Mocktails & Bites option starts at $49.99.
The event also features five new interactive themed bars:
Byte Bar
The Rewind
Resurrection Club
The Black Sheep
Larva Lounge
Each bar has its own theme, making them more than simply a place to grab a drink.
For example, The Rewind embraces 1990s nostalgia with VHS tapes, arcade-style details, landlines, dial-up sounds, and undead atmosphere. Byte Bar takes guests into a futuristic digital world filled with cyborg vampires.
Howl-O-Scream Shows
If you need a break from haunted houses and scare zones, Howl-O-Scream offers several live entertainment options.
Dead Air
Dead Air brings a creepy twist to the 1990s boy-band craze.
The undead performers return to the stage with music, choreography, and a decidedly darker version of pop-star entertainment.
Hellzapoppin Presents: The Grave Danger Thrill Show
For something completely different, check out the Grave Danger Thrill Show.
This performance combines circus-style stunts and unusual acts, including sword swallowing, glass walking, illusions, and other dangerous feats.
Throttle
Throttle brings fire, metal, and high-energy entertainment to the event.
The show centers around Havoc and a dark world where the dead don't rest and the machines never stop.
Monster Stomp
A returning favorite, Monster Stomp takes inspiration from Victorian-era London and the legend of Jack the Ripper.
The show combines percussion, singing, dancing, and rock-inspired entertainment for a high-energy Halloween performance.
Ride Roller Coasters in the Dark
One of my favorite things about Halloween at a theme park is getting to experience rides in a completely different way.
During Howl-O-Scream 2026, four major SeaWorld attractions are scheduled to operate:
Mako
Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice
Ice Breaker
Pipeline: The Surf Coaster
Riding a coaster at night is already exciting, but doing it while the park is filled with Halloween atmosphere adds another level of adrenaline.
If you're a thrill-seeker, I'd definitely consider working at least one nighttime coaster ride into your Howl-O-Scream itinerary.
Can Kids Go to Howl-O-Scream?
This is important for families planning an Orlando vacation.
Although children under 18 are permitted to attend, Howl-O-Scream is designed for mature audiences and contains intense adult themes, including blood, gore, violence, and risqué content. SeaWorld specifically states that the event is not intended for children.
If you're traveling with young children, SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular is a much more family-friendly option.
Howl-O-Scream is better suited to adults, older teens, and Halloween fans who enjoy intense scares.
Can You Wear a Halloween Costume?
Guests cannot wear costumes to Howl-O-Scream.
SeaWorld allows Halloween-themed clothing and accessories, but full costumes, masks that obscure your face, heavy face paint, and costume-like clothing that could make you look like an event performer are not permitted.
So if you're planning your outfit, think spooky rather than full costume.
A Halloween-themed T-shirt, festive accessories, or a creepy pair of ears can be a fun way to get into the spirit without violating the dress code.
Is there a quick queue?
There are 3 options for skipping the lines
Front Line Fear. One-time priority access to select houses starting at $69.99
Front Line Fear Extreme. One-time priority access to select houses, major thrill rides, and reserved seating at the Monster Stomp show starting at $89.99
Front Line Fear Ultimate. Unlimited priority access to houses including I know what you did last summer: Final Catch, major thrill rides, and reserved seating at the Monster Stomp show starting at $99.99
(Note that ONLY Front Line Fear Ultimate includes I know what you did last summer:Final Catch. The other two options DO NOT include that house.)
Sip & Scream. If you want to only access I know what you did last summer: Final Catch, you can purchase this for a one-time priority access and you get a 20 oz light up limited edition souvenir cup ( this is my hack because it’s the cheapest way to get priority access to that house) starting at $29.99
How to Avoid the Scares
Not everyone wants to be chased by monsters—and that's okay!
SeaWorld offers a No-Boo Necklace for guests who would prefer not to be directly scared by performers.
It doesn't necessarily mean you'll avoid every creepy sight or atmosphere, but it provides a way to signal that you'd rather not be targeted by the scare actors.
How to Plan Your Howl-O-Scream Night
If you're visiting Howl-O-Scream Orlando for the first time, I'd recommend having a basic plan before entering.
Arrive early. The gates open at 6:30 p.m., while the event officially begins at 7 p.m. The crowds line up early so plan to be there by 6:15 to be safe.
Choose your must-do haunted houses. With five houses and multiple scare zones, trying to experience everything without a plan can become challenging.
Don't rush through the scare zones. They're part of the attraction and often have detailed theming and characters.
Save time for a show. A live performance gives you a chance to sit down and recharge.
Ride a coaster at night. If you love thrill rides, this is one of the best opportunities to experience SeaWorld's coasters after dark.
Plan your food stops. If you're interested in the tasting lanyard, look at the participating food locations before you arrive.
Stay hydrated. Even though the event happens at night, Orlando's October weather can still be warm.
Important Things to Know Before You Go
There are a few policies worth knowing before heading to Howl-O-Scream.
Howl-O-Scream is a rain-or-shine event, and re-entry is not permitted. Daytime dining plans also don't carry over into the Halloween event, so food and drinks are purchased separately during Howl-O-Scream.
SeaWorld also has a specific bag policy for the event. Bags larger than 8 inches by 5 inches, including purses and backpacks, are not permitted through the Howl-O-Scream entrance, with limited exceptions for medically necessary items.
For photographers and content creators, flash photography is not permitted. SeaWorld does allow filming inside haunted houses and scare zones as long as external lighting or accessories aren't used.
Is Howl-O-Scream Orlando Worth It?
If you're a fan of Halloween, horror, haunted houses, and theme park thrills, Howl-O-Scream Orlando is absolutely worth considering for your fall Orlando vacation.
The 2026 event offers an impressive variety of experiences. You can walk through haunted houses, explore scare zones, watch live entertainment, grab Halloween food and drinks, visit themed bars, and ride some of SeaWorld's biggest coasters after dark.
I especially love that the event offers more than just haunted houses. The scare zones and entertainment mean there's always something happening while you're walking around the park.
And for horror fans, the addition of I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch gives the 2026 event an exciting movie connection.
Final Thoughts on Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2026
Halloween is a big deal in Orlando, and Howl-O-Scream Orlando is one of the city's biggest options for visitors looking for a Halloween experience on a budget, but still getting a scary and fun experience.
With five haunted houses, six scare zones, five new interactive bars, live shows, themed food and drinks, and four major rides operating at night, there's plenty to keep you busy during your visit.
Just remember: this isn't the sweet-and-spooky side of Halloween.
This is the side of Halloween that screams back.
